THE COMPANY
Igloo’s was established in 1983.

Mush, Inc. d.b.a. Igloo’s Frozen Drinks is a Texas corporation formed in October 1983. The company was established after the founder visited his hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana during the summer of 1983. He had witnessed the explosion of "drive-thru" frozen drink outlets in Lake Charles and all across the state of Louisiana. After returning to his home in Austin, Texas, Igloo’s was born and the company’s mission was to prove the potential of frozen drinks to the Texas market.

To this end Igloo’s endeavored to open the first "drive-thru” daiquiri store in Texas in the city of San Marcos. It was soon learned that the alcohol beverage laws were different in Texas than in Louisiana. In Texas, drinks made with liquor could not be sold through a drive-up window as they could be in Louisiana. However, an oddity in Texas law was discovered that allowed a drink made with wine to be sold through a drive-up window. Over the next few months the company began to perfect flavorings that, when mixed with wine, would taste very much like drinks made with various liquors such as Rum, Vodka and Tequila.

During the following years additional retail stores were opened in Texas, each one very successful. Currently Igloo’s products are available at numerous locations throughout the United States.



THE GROWTH
Igloo’s growth has been steady and constant.

After moving its operations to Dallas, Igloo’s began to sell its now very popular wine-based frozen drinks at the State Fair of Texas. Always searching for new markets, the company began to seek out larger venues.

In 1995, Igloo’s entered into an agreement with Host Marriott to sell the company’s wine-based Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiri at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas. Reunion Arena was the home of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team and the Dallas Stars hockey team.

In 1996, Igloo’s contracted with Starplex Amphitheatre (now renamed Smirnoff Music Centre) in Dallas, and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas, both operated by Aramark Entertainment Services.

In 1997, the company contracted Sportservice at The Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers, to offer its now very successful wine-based frozen drinks. However, it was learned that The Ballpark could sell only beer, or malt-based products in the general seating areas of the stadium.

Refusing to be discouraged, Igloo’s told the manager that the company would produce a malt-based frozen margarita that could be legally sold at The Ballpark. Within a few months, Igloo’s had contracted with a local Dallas brewery, to develop a unique margarita flavored malt beverage, packaged in kegs, which has become very popular over the years at The Ballpark.

In 1999, Igloo’s began to expand its business outside of Texas by offering its services to Starwood Amphitheatre in Nashville, Tennessee also operated by Aramark Entertainment Services.



THE IMPROVEMENTS
Igloo’s wine is odorless and tasteless.

The company has continuously strived to improve its flavors and has been searching for a wine that would further improve the taste of the drinks. Unable to find an existing wine to its liking, the company contracted with a nationally known winery to produce a wine under the Igloo’s name that is odorless and tasteless. This new wine allowed the company’s chemists to improve the flavors even more since they no longer had to overcome the distinctive, and inevitable, taste and aroma of the wines that had previously been used.

To better serve its customers, Igloo’s has recently engaged three new distributors and will be seeking additional distributors, as growth requires. Also, as suggested by some of its customers, the company has developed and patented a portable backpack dispenser for its frozen drinks to allow the larger venues to better serve their customers.
